Thats right, the 2010 GCE O level examination results.

Firstly, im very proud to say that my sister did very well for her Os. At least, up to her expectations. Points? I guess she'll reveal it herself! ;) Way to go!

Next, woonguek my cousin. I am not sure how well she did, and i dont dare to ask her because she already told us not to via tweets, so i am just praying that she's contented with whatever she has (:

Zhiyi! That silly girl who finally got back her O level results after so much of worrying and anticipation. Although it wasnt to her expectations, hey, we've talked about it. YOU CAN DO IT!

To the rest who collected their results;
Nope, you cant turn back time as much as you want to. Nope, you cant wish to have studied harder. but YES! its possible to make wise decisions now and excel in your tertiary education.

Yes yes... Most of you guys reading this will probably go "chey, easier said than done"
Hey i've been through my Os, i had my fair share of disappointment, maybe i felt even worse than some of you guys reading this. I know how it felt to have people asking you "how's your results" all day long and i hated it, thats why i didn't ask around myself and waited for people to call and reveal it to me.

This day brings me back to exactly a year ago where i felt so lousy. Sam started crying and when i hugged her, tears gushed out like a water pipe that just exploded. I know how lousy it is to see people around you getting better grades. Yes indeed one will definitely be glad to see a close friend scoring so well but as much as we hate to admit,

This is reality

and there in the midst of all the joy for that person, there was a pinch of jealousy that tingled in you. But because of good sportsmanship, nonetheless we congratulated them because they deserve it :) This is a day filled with emotions; Probably the only day where one can witness all the possible expressions of a human being in a single location.

So for those that scored well and up to their expectations, give yourself a pat on your back! For those who were disappointed and discouraged, it is hard to tell you now to stay positive. But give yourself 3 days. 3 days to get back up to your feet and start choosing the courses wisely. Sit down and flip through that grey, monstrous looking book and start highlighting. Warning! Do not succumb to peer pressure. This is tertiary, no longer secondary school. If need be, choose the same poly? (: Also, it is your own race to run. Other people's expectations of you do not matter that much, so don't take it to heart if some proud bitch comes to you and "huh you get __? awww so sad?" Seriously, ignore the person.

Well okay enough of how i feel. All the best in choosing your choices. You guys got until friday to figure it out, way enough time, spend it wisely. You wouldn't want another disappointment again. Trust me. Been there, Done that.

As the chinese saying goes, there's always a taller mountain. No matter what you do, no matter where you go, there will definitely be someone better than you. Comparing yourself to them will only make yourself feel demoralised. So why bother?

Imagine you're running a race. The whistle goes off and everyone zooooooms off. You are running and running and running. Imagine the scenario where you are always turning to look at others, constantly worrying if they are catching up, how many, and how many you're lagging behind. Wont all these slow you down? You get the drift.

To end this long post,
"Successful people focus on progression"
